Modular Architecture

Modular Architecture

First generation layer 2 solutions are monolithic: they settle state, security, and data availability back to the same layer 1. While this architecture is simple, it falls short in terms of providing the most optimized and efficient solution.

Layer N introduces a novel modular layer 2 architecture for each of its rollup instances that is capable of leveraging highly optimized solutions for specific tasks across its stack, and is able to easily plug and play different components for maximum configurability.

  • Sequencing: Layer N introduces a novel shared sequencing solution that enables Inter-Rollup Communication (IRC) within the entire Layer N network.
  • Data Availability: Layer N has the ability to horizontally scale bandwith, and access much larger blockpsace, all while remaining secured by Ethereum validators, by leveraging EigenDA.
  • Proof Generation: Layer N introduces a novel zero-knowledge based fraud proving system (ZKFP) that is more cost effective to run, and enables more efficient withdrawal times for end users.
